Target Audience
This activity is designed for hospital-based and other physicians and allied healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients at-risk for VTE.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Stratify patients by level of VTE risk in the hospital and post-discharge
- Demonstrate awareness of current evidence, practice guidelines, and quality measures for optimal VTE prophylaxis in the inpatient and outpatient setting
- Implement and/or promote adherence to evidence-based VTE prophylaxis to ensure continuity of prevention from the hospital to post-acute care
- Apply educational tools to advocate for policies and protocols for VTE prevention across at-risk patient populations and practice settings.
