This activity is designed for clinical pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the increasing impact of antibiotic resistance on the incidence and clinical and economic burden of nosocomial infections in the United States
- Incorporate safety considerations and potential for resistance, along with coverage, into antibiotic selection for serious infections
- Implement IDSA/SHEA guidelines for antimicrobial stewardship into hospital practice
- Outline the evidence for use of traditional and new antibiotics for hospitalized patients at risk for resistance and for the prevention and management of resistant infections
- Take on a hospital leadership role to maximize infection control and prevention and management of serious infections
Credit Eligibility

Participants who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form online may immediately print their documentation of credit.
