Target Audience
This activity is designed for medical directors, consultant pharmacists, and directors of nursing in long-term care.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the prevalence and clinical and cost burden of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the long-term care setting
- Outline the frequent characteristics among patients in long-term care facilities that complicate effective COPD management
- Summarize the latest evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and management of COPD
- Apply the latest evidence and guidelines to maximize COPD outcomes and minimize disease progression in long-term care
Credit Eligibility
To be eligible for documentation of credit, individuals must listen to the audio/video component and review the slides for the entire educational activity, complete the 10-question post-test with a score of 70% or better, and complete the evaluation form. Participants who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form online may immediately print their documentation of credit.
