This activity is designed for allergists, pulmonary medicine physicians, pediatricians, and primary care physicians.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the prevalence and burden of pediatric asthma in the United States, as well as the common barriers to effective diagnosis and management of the condition
  • Implement effective methods for screening and early diagnosis of pediatric asthma in the primary care setting
  • Summarize the safety and efficacy of traditional and novel asthma treatment options and common adverse effects
  • Improve compliance with asthma treatment through creation of partnerships among healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers
